Description:

This bracelet is one of a pair, made of sheet silver to resemble a twisted rope, joined by a large facetted boss with incised and punched, geometric decoration. Jewellery played an important part in the lives of Muslim societies, but little survives from the early Islamic period. It is often difficult to attribute pieces like this one accurately.
