Description:

This bowl shows a crowned horserider surrounded by birds, floral motifs and calligraphic elements drawn in black against a yellow background and further enhanced by individual dots of turquoise glaze. The style draws on both local Persian folk and royal traditions while the inclusion of kufic script signals awareness of a new, "Islamic" aesthetic.
