Hegira 3rd–4th century / AD 9th–10th century

Colorless glass, with relief-cut decoration in a green overlay (modern neck)

Abbasid

Iraq or Iran

Description:

The decoration was made by cutting away the outer layer of glass. The bottle’s stylized birds and entwined, abstract vegetal ornaments are motifs that frequently appear in the art of the period.
