Leather with chalk ground and gold leaf paint; wood painted to imitate leather; handle: silk and silver thread
This elaborate flask dates from the late AH 10th century / AD 16th century. Its wooden body is covered with a linen and chalk ground that was gilded and painted: we see lovers and musicians in a garden filled with flowers.
